He has over 20 years of experience across financial services, cross-border corporate finance and capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, equity investments and infrastructure projects in Latin America, Europe and the United States. He has successfully completed over U.S.$150 billion of complex financial and corporate cross-border transactions, advising and representing an international roster of global financial institutions, Fortune 100 companies, sovereign entities and family-owned businesses from across Latin America, Europe and the United States. Ignacio Aicardi is the CIO and Founder of Darby International Capital. He has 25 years of experience managing credit investment strategies in emerging markets. He serves as a member of the Investment Committee.

Mr. Aicardi was a Managing Director at Darby Overseas Investments, the emerging markets private equity subsidiary of Franklin Templeton, where he led investments in the private debt space in Latin America. Mr. Aicardi was responsible for all investments in Latin America (ex-Brazil) for the Latin American Private Debt strategy, participated in fundraising, launch and deployment. In his role, Mr. Aicardi managed all aspects of the credit investment process and oversaw the team of investment professionals in Colombia and Washington DC. Prior to joining Darby Overseas Investments in 2009, Mr. Aicardi was a Vice President at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in New York, where he worked on structured credit and project finance investments in Latin America. Mr. Aicardi also worked at Bear Stearns early in his career and in several managerial positions in his native country of Uruguay.

Mr. Aicardi holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Universidad de la Republica in Uruguay.

Jorge brings over 20 years experience in project finance and investment management, having held senior positions at both Allianz Global Investors and Santander Corporate & Investment Banking. In his most recent role, as Director of Infrastructure Debt at Allianz Global Investors since 2016, Mr. Camiña was responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of Infrastructure Debt investments in the Americas. He led the execution of a strategic shift towards renewable power across US and Latin America, investing in over three gigawatts of solar and wind assets. Paolo Matoto joined CIBC Capital Markets in 2018. He is an Executive Director in

the firm’s private placement team based in New York, focused on all aspects of the

origination, execution, and distribution of traditional debt private placements for

CIBC clients. He has executed over 150 transactions across a wide range of sectors

(in particular power, energy, infrastructure, and natural resources) globally, and

is experienced in both corporate and project/structured financings. As a senior

member of the private placement team, he is responsible for every facet of a

transaction. From client management, drafting of marketing materials, oversight

and negotiation of legal documentation, execution strategy, investor-marketing

discussions, through to pricing, book building, allocations and funding.

Mr. Matoto previously held a similar position at a well-known financial institution

for 10 years. He began his banking career in 2001 as part of a competing firm’s the

Global Syndicated Finance team and moved on to debt private placement roles at

other major financial institutions.

Mr. Matoto received a Master of International Affairs degree from

Columbia University in New York in 2001, with a concentration in finance

and economics.

Andres is a Managing Director with Rubicon Capital Advisors (“Rubicon”) and is based in the Chile office. Andres leads Rubicon’s efforts in the Southern Cone.

Andres has been working for the last 10 years as an M&A and project finance banker having held senior positions at Citi, BBVA and Scotiabank. During his tenure as a banker he has financed projects with total Capex of over US$ 3.5Bn and provided financial advisory service for a total transaction value of over US$ 3Bn.

Andres has successfully led the most innovative transactions in Latam such as the largest project bond ever issued (Interchile 144 A Reg S US$1.2Bn), the first USPP for a portfolio of PMGD projects in Chile and the acquisition of a water utilities portfolio in Chile.

Before becoming a banker, Andres worked as an M&A and project finance attorney for 10 years. Andres holds a J.D. from Universidad Católica Argentina, an MSc in Finance from Universidad del CEMA, an LL.M from Duke University School of Law and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University). Andres is a frequent speaker at Energy and Infrastructure conferences in Latam. He is a correspondent for the Butterworths Journal of International Banking & Financial Law and has published over 30 articles on legal and financial matters.
