Sara Pirzada recently joined SMBC as a Managing Director, heading the Latin America business for Loan Capital Markets in New York. Prior to her current position, Sara was a Managing Director at Mizuho Securities, heading Latin America as well as Americas Project Finance, for Loan Capital Markets. She has more than 20 years of broad experience executing debt financings for corporate, structured, and project finance transactions for the oil and gas, power, renewable energy, infrastructure, mining, and commodities sectors across the Americas.  Prior to joining Mizuho, Sara was a Director at WestLB, where she spent more than ten years, and was involved in many high-profile transactions in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Previous to WestLB, Sara spent several years at JP Morgan in the investment banking division focusing on the oil and gas sector in the Americas.  Sara holds an MBA and BSc. in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Alexei Remizov is a Managing Director at HSBC’s Global Capital Markets in New York, responsible for Brazil coverage.

He jointed HSBC in 2007. He started his career at the World Bank, where he worked from 1992 to 1997 in various capacities, including Latin America Country Operations that involved implementation of Brazil’s Proer (Banking Sector Restructuring) program. While at the World Bank, he was also a member of the operations team in Sarajevo overseeing the restructuring of the Bosnian economy after the civil war.

In 1997-1999, Alexei was responsible for Latin American sovereign ratings at S&P, covering Brazil, Columbia, Peru and Chile, among others. From 1999 to 2005, he worked at JPMorgan as the Head of Country Risk Management and Advisory Group. In this function, he advised the governments of Bahrain, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Romania, Saudi Arabia and South Africa, among others.

He undertook undergraduate studies at the Moscow State University and holds an M.A. in Economics and Financial Management from the Catholic University, Washington, D.C.
